What is corrective camouflage?

In cosmetology, camouflage is a type of make-up applied to cover skin imperfections and to make them invisible to the naked eye. The technique was first introduced in the 1960s in the USA. Today, cosmetic camouflage is used as a temporary solution after some procedures, e.g. dermabrasion, or to complement other techniques if they do not offer satisfactory results.

The principal role of camouflage is to make the patients feel better about themselves. Unaesthetic lesions, particularly in the face area, may lead to depression, low self-esteem and intense emotional tension. Corrective make-up helps to improve the quality of life. It is an important complement to a long-term treatment.
